Update On What Doug is Doing
1 July 2005
This morning I left for Belfast, Ireland. In Belfast, I met the team from the Southern Methodist College. After meeting the team, we headed off for Banbridge, which is a 45-minute drive from Belfast City Airport.
3 July to 9 July 2005
Now that I had been in Ireland for two days, the team is now at the first day of a weeklong church camp. My role with the camp was to be one of the senior leaders. I had a great team of campers made up of two boys and five girls. I had met a number of these children last year when I was in Ireland. I had a wonderful time renewing friendships with all of the campers. By the time the church camp had came to an end, seven of the campers became Christian. One of the seven campers was from my team. Thank you for all of your prayers.
10 July to 16 July
The team spent much of this time doing open-air meetings, tracting and door-to-door outreach, inviting the children to join us for a week of One-Way Club. This is much like the Vacation Bible School we have in the States. I understand that on the first day of this One-Way Club, they had 20 children in attendance. This is up from last year when we had only five 5 in attendance.
17 July
Sunday morning I will be doing a Gospel illustration for the morning service at Enniskilleny Indepentendent Methodist Church. Later after the evening service, the team, along with some of the members of the church, went out for an open-air meeting.
10 July
I returned back home to England for a week of rest before leaving for Germany.
